    Routing Transducer Cable

I've got the transducer to my bow mounted Huminbird depth finder attached to the barrel of my trolling motor. My concern is establishing the best way to route the cable from the transducer to the depth finder unit mounted on the bow. At the present time I have the cable snuggle attached to the trolling motor shaft. This manner of attaching the cable works but hoping to find a much more efficient way. Thanks for all suggestions.

Hmmmmm I had to look up "cable snuggle". Never heard of any such thing, but, there it is ( http://photojojo.com/awesomeness/everyday-cable-snuggle ).

I have my cable wrapped around the TM shaft a number of times, and the excess is left below decks with a cable tie around it to keep it neat. No snuggles on my boat. Ha Ha

Thanks rich wrapping the cable around the TM shaft is such a simple solution. I appreciate the solution.

These plus their low profile zip ties along the shaft of the TM, make sure to leave a loop so it can turn fully.

Will those cable ties fit around a trolling motor shaft? The top and bottom ?

If you have some cable ties that are too short, just connect one to another one. You can make them any length that you want. Obviously, one that is the right size in the first place is best.

I've always used Zip Ties every 3", with a "Loop" at the Shaft joint, then wrapped around the TM cable. Has worked well for the last 30yrs or so. Now I have an Ultrex with US-2 and a Hydrowave. Still use the Zip Ties. And in the Ultrex shaft there is a "groove" to run an extra cable. Clean and very functional.

Yes, these fit on both no issue and the transducer cable fits snugly (not snuggle, i swear) in the loop. I got this recommendation on BBC somewhere a couple years ago, so there are more threads on it if you can find them.
