    Looks like a saddle between points made up of sand or gravel and mud with a few scattered rocks. Pretty cool pic. Lots of transition area and a good shot at current with the right wind.

    I've never seen bottom like that. Looks awesome but the fishy part is the little rock pile. Wonder if that is like some really defined shell beds?

    Too well defined to be anything natural like grass, rocks, sand, etc.

    It's a natural lake not a reservoir so it's definitely weeds/sand/rock/muck. I'm guessing some low growing weed (brighter returns) on a soft bottom (darker areas). As mentioned above, Chara Grass looks like weeds we pull up from that lake. A 2D view would be nice.

    should have dropped a bait down there a couple times to see if you could snag something, if not you'd know it wasn't a type of plant. If you pull up some algae (chara is a benthic algae) and it smells like ass you'd know its definitely chara
