    speed - rpm question

Got a 2013 Z7 with 150 Pro SX. When it was new I ran 5500 RPM and could get 58-60 on slick water and 55 any time.

Last year I notice it would only run about 5000 rpm and maybe 50 mph. I took it in for service and they said nothing was wrong with it, motor was fine.
So I fished it all year and then this year rolls around and I took it to another place and they take it out and check it and said all is fine.

Ive had it serviced at least once a year
    its at 3.5" below pad
trim limiter stops me from going to much
    water pressure 12 psi

Today I raised the motor to 3" below pad and nothing changed on the RPM or speed, but the water pressure dropped to 8 psi

    Prop24 Tempest Plus

I am at a lost cause I can't think of what could cause it. Any ideas????

My Z7 (200hp) runs much faster at 4.5" below pad than the 3.5" standard people suggest.

Try running a bit deeper and see what happens. I have RPM issues also with a 25Fury. I get 68-70mph at 5400 to 5450 and cant get rpm's up. Going to try a 24 Fury and see what happens.

I would try the 24 fury prop. Mine runs at 5500 with no problems with that prop. Buddy has a Z18 and had lower RPM and had the 25, switch over to the 24 and everything kick right on up there.

I have same boat. Mine did exactly as yours is doing. Carried it to my dealer, and it was determined that I had a hooked hull. Nitro replaced the hull at no charge.

Now the boat runs 63 mph gps speed at 5600 rpm with 2 grown men (200lbs+ each), 25 gallons a of gas, and enough tackle to last a lifetime.

I've seen 66 mph at 5700 rpm briefly with just me in the boat, 12 gallons of gas, and no tackle.

Take your our boat to a reputable Nitro dealer and have it evaluated.

Willpage77 - you are correct, I went out and checked the boat and it is hooked on the passenger side. I can put my hand in between the bunk and the boat. You can even see it in the chine pretty good. I'll be contacting Nitro tomorrow as I am original owner of the boat.

    Thanks for all the help.

Did they replace it with a z7 hull or a z18?

    Zseen,

Let your dealer do the warranty claim work for you. There will be pictures and paperwork to send Nitro. Once Nitro accepts the claim, a truck will be scheduled to pick up your boat. Be prepared for your boat to be gone for around 5 to 6 weeks.

    jrodriguez,

They built a new Z7 hull and put under mine. Only thing I have that is original is the engine and the top cap. Everything else is completely new.

I also wondered if I was going to get a Z18, but my dealer informed me they had kept the Z7 mold.

No complaints here, as I am back on the water fishing, and the boat is faster than it ever has been. I'm very pleased with the way Nitro handled everything.

So they basically screwed your top cap with all your consoles, graphs, trolling motor, etc to a new hull?

Im right now with my boat taking in water thru the rear tie down and they replaced it and put silicone but its still taking in water and I also have noticed mine lost speed and I replaced prop with no luck, so I will look for that tommorow in my boat maybe its got a hooked hull too.

Yes sir, that's what they did. They also transferred the hull ID number to the new hull.

    jrodriguez,

Not trying to scare you by any means. Have you noticed any decline in your performance numbers?

Talked with my dealer yesterday about my problem. He mentioned he has never seen a boat do this years after it was made and said if it was hooked it came from the factory like that. He has not seen it yet cause I am waiting till the end of season but my boat used to run 63 mph on GPS. I don't know when it happened or how but I do know its not right. I don't want to not have a boat all season so I am waiting till fall to take it in. It is for sure hooked though cause they had a 2014 Z7 in there and it was straight and flat. Mine is no where near like that.
