    Exporting Data

Trying to export data from my back unit, 688CI HD, to my front unit a Helix 5. I had to purchase a new SD card with the micro card in it and got a 64 GB SanDisk. I keep getting a fail when I try to export, but if I use my old 2 GB card it is successful. Is this new card "too much" for the unit? If so I stopped back at a store and the micro cards seem all to have a high GB count. Could I get someone with computer knowledge to transfer the date from the 2.0 card to the new one? Thanks

Humminbird units have a max of 32 GB for memory cards.

You may can do a FAT32 format to make it work.

Put the 64 GB card in your computer, right mouse click on the drive and select Format. If FAT32 is not displayed, change it to that and then OK.

Reinstall???? Your data is still in the DI unit unless you deleted them.

You can't use a SD card in your Helix 7. It has a microSD card reader.

OK, with the Helix 7 fully operating in Normal or Simulator, put the microSD card in the unit and answer the pop-up message YES.

Then put the microSD card back in the SD adapter and then in your computer, open HumminbirdPC and copy your data using the SD card symbol arrows on the left of the panel. That will gave you a backup copy of your data.

Yes, that is how you import GPS data with Helix and number series units.

I'm sure what you posted was very helpful for the gent.

It's all reading and comprehension - the 1st link is a download for a FAT32 format program because it's needed to format the bigger cards to FAT32 as anything over 23GB generally is formatted to NTFS file system on some operating systems, the 2nd link goes more in depth than many want to learn but it's there if you'd like to educate yourself.

FAT32 is just one of many computer format file systems.

Laughing at other's lack of experience or knowledge doesn't help the person much and that's not how we do things here.

Wayne P., sorry for the late reply but had someone do the Fat32 for me and retried to transfer my data and it worked great. I was in a store the same day I gave the card to the girl to redo and noticed they had a chip on sale and was going to pick it up but held off. Glad I did. Thanks for the help and all you do for us.
