Any recomendations on a good cabin in that area?
Our 30th anniversary is in June, we never had a honeymoon since we got married while I was on leave while in the Army and after my service was done, Well life began with jobs, kids ,ect.
Finally have the time to take a few days to ourselves this year and was looking at cabins in that area.
Want something somewhat secluded but not so far away that a drive to town or activities would just be a pain in the butt.

VRBO is best bet, vacation rentals by owner. My wife and I like to stay in Townsend or closer to Pidgeon Forge. We spend a lot of time at the Island and if we want to go to Gatlinburg we ride the trolley. Sure beats getting in traffic and trying to find a place to park. Stayed in Shagbark gated community also. I like the Cades Cove part of the park is one reason we stay in Townsend.
Check out member Timberland here. He is a BBC member and has a deluxe cabin in Pigeon Forge that is really nice.

we have used this company several times with great success. We really enjoy the Kears Mountain area. Just beware Gatlinburg is real touristy. If you go Cade’s Cove and Biltmore House is a must. Also there are several walking trails that are a nice, good luck.
Having been to Gatlingburg many times, my wife and I finally did a secluded cabin one time outside of town, and though it was nice, we found ourselves doing way more driving than we thought we'd ever do. Any time thereafter we decided to stay in Gatlinburg where we could walk to everything in Gatlinburg and the only driving we did was into the nearby park...Clingmans Dome, Cades Cove, Cherokee Village, and so on. Our Gatlinburg routine involves being in the national park all day, and then roaming the streets and bars and distilleries of Gatlinburg at night.
I can make in 4 post in 4 different places. We take the boat and stay at a VRBO on Douglas Lake with a dock for about the same as a cabin. We drive into Pigeon Forge in less than 30 minutes from Dandridge where the VRDO was it was close to the Bush's bean company is located. We have stayed at Hidden Mountain cabins and I liked it but my wife didn't because they would not let us use the fireplace in September it was a nice cabin.
Glenstone Lodge has been out favorite place to stay. It's nothing fancy, it's cheap, the 2 pools are nice, and conveniently located. Breakfast across the street at the Pancake House is AWESOME!
Very easy walk to all the stuff in Gatlinburg.

We just got back from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Traffic was horrible in both places. We had the most fun when we got out of town. Stay somewhere in Wears Valley and avoid the tourist traps. Spend your time in Cades cove and the rest of the mountains.

We rented a place from Elk Springs resort for late April. Looks really nice.
I have stayed in Timberland's cabin is is a nice place. And not to far out.
I just looked up Timberland and he hasnt been on here since December 2016.
I hope all is well with him, he dosent have PM turned on and I didnt see any email.

i strongly 2nd this post. My wife and I have stayed there many times. Awesome cabins and great scenery. Highly recommend them.
