I have a 921 with helix 9’s. I am used to touch screen lowrance units that I had on my other boat. Which is the better unit. Why are most of the guys on the elites have helix instead of solix.

Better is subjective. To me the Lowrance is a little easier to use on first impression but the solix is still user friendly. Lowrance has slightly better down imaging but the solix side imaging blows Lowrance out of the water. No additional boxes to buy with the solix. Can adjust the scroll speed of side and down imaging to match boat speed on the solix as well where Lowrance is fixed.
I have no idea why the pros prefer the helix over the solix
Lowrance makes a better graph. I have both hds and solix.

I'm biased, but I prefer the 'birds. The mega imaging is the best I've seen, and it's more user-friendly in my opinion. Not everyone will agree, but it's what works for me.

I just installed 15” solix units today - really tough to beat the HB imaging and mapping.
