    I would be concerned that the fiberglass would still absorb some water as it travelled through the hole. Maybe it doesn’t, and I’m over thinking it

    The lids are not sealed completely back there .They are a two piece design.

    Actually wasn't a lot, but when boat was tilted back it was enough to have 1.5" of water in back of tray (not covering whole tray). Coming off plane mostly and fishing in rain. 2-12' talons, gas and 2 live wells it takes some driving skills to keep the water out of there. Actually, the talon brackets is the biggest issue since they can trap some water and push a small wave when setting it down. I can do better, but don't try very hard. I've never had auto bilge come on and have never had enough water drain out of plug after drip to fill a water bottle. And I'd take a little water to keep the split back compartment. I so much rather the split than 1 large that you can't get in from the boat.
