Wedges on a 184?

I'm running a 6" jackplate and a XR4. Could I benefit from a set of wedges to give me a little more trim? If so, 2 or 5 degrees?

I'm halfway there! I'm rocking the 23 Yamaha. The parts man at my local boat dealer told me I couldn't put a Yamaha prop on a Merc when I went in there to buy a Yamaha thrust washer...I almost want to take the boat by there and show him how wrong he is.

Props are a dark and mysterious science, way above most people's feeble minds.
Especially a parts guy that only knows how to read a catalogue.

I been running a yamaha 23m for over a year on my mercury outboard.

I bought my 181 and it had a 23M. I found a 23M2 used for a decent price and bought it. I have not tried it.

What is the difference between the 2 props?
