Question Making adjustable seat pedestal taller?

I’m 6’ 4” and like to use a butt seat on an adjustable, 30 inch, seat pedestal. At its tallest, it’s still is about 6 inches too short. I tried adding an 11” pedastle and it makes it too tall and unsteady. Any suggestions as to how to make it taller? Maybe add a 6 inch block of wood to the bottom of the seat? Can I cut an 11 inch pedastle down? Thanks for your suggestions.

although you are 3-4 inches taller i understand. at 6-1 1/2 i too sometimes see this problem. i would think if you took a short pedestal pole and the longer one to a welding shop they could cut it and weld it to your desired height. just a suggestion.

Take your longer pedestal pull out the insert for the seat post and cut it to the length you want then drive the insert back in.

I went with this type. I’m 6’3” and it’s the best I have found. I can’t fish without it now.

Look around and you can find them cheaper.

Can't you put a 6-inch Riser Block in between your pedestal and your seat some kind of poly material

Thanks for replies! I got the insert/bushing out today and I’ll cut it down tomorrow. I didn’t know it’d be that easy. Thanks again!!!
