    iPhone voicemail transcribe - shutoff

Ever since I updated my iPhone to 11.xx, the voice mail has been transcribing into written form instead of voice and it is a mess. I learned that this is a beta version and cannot be turned off in any of the settings. However it is set to only work with a Siri voice of English United States so if you change the Siri voice to any other selection, it turns off the transcription and your voicemail is recorded normally. I chose English Australian.
This was driving me crazy and I was so happy to find a solution that I thought it worthy to pass on.

I try to drive as if my 16 year old Grandson is following me
Speak as if he is listening and act as if he is watching

    It does both.

You can read the transcribed voicemail which is typically wrong but gives you an idea of whats in there. Gives you the option to screen/delete the voicemail without having to listen to it.

Then if you still want to listen to it, Press the play button and listen like normal.

Personally I like the ability to filter/delete without having to listen. Then again I'm not one to leave messages. If theres no answer I send a text.
