    Found random bolts off motor

    When looking over my 1988 XP150 this week I noticed two bolts laying on the bottom/back of the motor. I looked online and it looked like they came off the exhaust cover (pic 1)? I already put them back in but I'm not sure if I should loctite them so they don't come loose again or do I have bigger problems then just putting them back in?

    There has also been a bolt completely missing as long as I've had the motor on the water jacket? (pic 2) right under the bottom spark plug.

    I guess I'm just not sure how big of an issue these are. Can I just put them back in and not worry about it, or could this mean I have larger issues at hand?

    I'm surprised you don't have water leaks. No Loctite, maybe some gasket sealing compound for anti seize, but you will be OK with what you have done. Replace the missing bolt.

    Use Evinrude/Johnson Gasket sealing compound ! it stays pliable for ever, well almost for ever ! Just put a dab on the threads, and put it in !
