    Z19 Speed

Guys I’ve been thinking hard on a z19. I currently have a z7. Was wondering what kind of speed are you guys seeing out of your z19’s. Thanks for any input!

I had a Z7 with a 200 (71.3 gps) I traded in for the 2018 Z19. 1/2 tank of fuel, medium tournament load, and me was see 68-69 on the gps. Dual PP’s and a heavy 31 agm in the back.

2017 z19. Two talons and gear with two guys half a tank of gas 68. With just me and the right chop on water 69 - 70. After adding the talons I see no difference in hole shot or speed.

2017 Z19, One talon, all gear, two guys, half tank of gas around 65.5-66. Just me and the right conditions I have topped just over 70.. Just the other day reached 69.5, but had more fuel in the tank...

2018 z19, 25 fury, loaded with 2 guys and 2 power poles....68-69. I can hit 70 alone but it's taking some time getting used to having to drive it. Came from a Skeeter that never walked.

I have not noticed a difference in size, ride or anything switching from a 20ft to this boat. Absolutely love it.

Friend just got his Z19 200 pro xs 25p fury. We got 65-67 gps on mild chop. Boat comes out of hole great, ride is great ( higher seats took a little to get used too) but hes very happy with the boat.

I've noticed most folks with Z19s run 25 fury my boat is a mlf boat from the world championship and it has a 24 fury I'm guessing the did this because there was always 3 people in the boat. Do you think it would help my top end to go to a 25

I saw 69.1 on my first outing with mine today. Smooth water, temps in the 50's, half tank of gas and 2 Power Poles on the rear. The downside was the chine walk. I had to trim it down till the speed dropped to 66 before the walking quit. I will rarely go this fast but it would be nice if the chine walk didn't happen. Not sure if there is anything I can do. I have a 25 Fury.

With seat time you'll learn to control it.

Pros Choice puts a 24 Fury on all the Z19 boats they sell unless they changed for 2018.

Mine came from Pro's Choice and it has the 25.

Concerning the chine walking, I had an 09 Triton 19 footer that was terrible with the walking and I hate to admit I never did learn how to totally control it, other than by tucking the motor down some. Speed means almost nothing to me since I am strictly an amateur who fishes weekdays only. I leave the weekends for the working crowd and since retiring I try not to get in a hurry to do anything. I just like to know it's there in case I need it, like when I fish just a little too long with a storm approaching. I have some practical experience with that and it is not good.

I haven't seen it mentioned here but the Chris Bailey foils get a lot of attention, at least they did on the Ranger forum. I wound up getting one for my Z118 when I had it and it really made a difference in hole shot. Also, I could stay on plane at about 20 mph. I don't think it would stop the chine walk but don't know for sure. I have thought about getting another one as I fish some shallow water and staying on plane at low speeds was really nice. Chris makes a quality and good looking foil.

I was able to get out yesterday for the 1st time this year I forgot how much I liked my boat. Really bad wind chop and some boat traffic. I saw 65 mph pretty easy and it handled like a much bigger boat
