    2006 Etec idle temperature

Guys, just got my nema hooked up so I can now see engine temp. I noticed that while running on plane it would run 132-136 temp. When idling through long no wake zones it would get up to 192 degrees. The water temperature was in the low 50's. To me it seems like the long idle temps are a bit high. Just curious on what your more educated thoughts are. Serial number and model are in my signature.

    Thanks,

    Kyle

My 08 gets hot like that too when moving for a period of time at off plane speeds. The alarm has never went off. I have Nema hooked up to the HDS9 Gen 2. I have wondered how accurate the temp data is transferring through to the HDS.

It's sending the same reading the EMM has, which it also uses to trigger the alarm. Etecs run at a warmer temp than other engines.
