Only difference is the dfi has a lil extra additive for less carbon build up is what I’ve read. Don Weed has all the info in the Merc section here on bbc

Up untill. 13 or 14. Merc issued a dealer memorandum to use premium plus. But merc racing still uses it. Or did. The deal was confusing. Nkw at cabelas i see Rangers with merc and they say they come from factory with some off brand. (Amsoil,pemsoil) i cant remember. Thought was odd,you wont have to worry about oil soon either way. 2 strokes are ending in 21

Just for fun people. This oil is called Hollywood oil by some because it was developed just to pass EPA regulations and keep the 2 strokes around. Now on a serious note kind of. Does anyone know of Mercury refusing warranty claims because Premium Plus was being used?
