Battery life on barely used batteries

I just bought brand new trolling motor batteries for my boat in late February. Yesterday my buddy gave me a set of three batteries from his boat that he no longer needed. The batteries from his boat were installed in the fall and use less than 5 times.

So my question is how long will the barely used batteries last? If I just keep them charged and store them in my garage will they be useful in 2 years? Or should I just try to sell them?

If they were free Id keep them charged until you need them and run them till they crap out. Im sure you would get a year or so out of them.

I'm a switch out my starting battery for one of them. They're all great batteries, full charge.

Consider yourself lucky, sell the batteries along with those hand control transom mount trolling motors you have out in the garage.
