Power Pole Blade Black Plastic Cracking/Chipping?

I have dual 8ft power pole blades and have noticed some cracks in the black plastic covering the spike on both poles. Recently I noticed a peice chipping off down to the spike? I don't even use them that much. Is this somewhat of a common issue? How concerned should I be and will this lead to major repairs now or down the road? Any thoughs on next steps would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Call Power Pole tell them and they will replace your spikes under the lifetime spike warranty. Not a common issue no, but have seen it on a few.
