    Dobyns 784hp

Curious how many like this rod... ? Curious because I see alot for sale or wanting to trade for a 745 hp. For me, 1/2 ounce jigs would be it's main chore.

784 didn't have enough back bone for me, so i like the 745 a lot better

784 is a great football jig rod. Pitching and flipping the 745 is a better option.

Thanks. I haven't used any of the HP models, but love the XP 744c. How does the 784 HP compare to the 744 XP in terms of power?

Do you have a newer Champion XP 744? This rod was added to the Champion line not long ago specifically as a jig rod which means it’s faster than the 784. The new 744 Champ is a really nice jig rod - I actually sold my DX 744 and 745 extremes and bought two of them for 1/2 and under pitching and football jigs.

745HP would be the best option in my opinion.
