Any special permits, etc to launch on Lanier?

My trip to Lanier is coming up in a couple of weeks. We already have Georgia fishing licenses. Is there any special launch permit or lake permit I have to get? For example, in Indiana, to use a launch on a Corps of Engineers lake, you need to buy a season's launch sticker.

If you have COE decal you're good to go otherwise it's $5 a pop to launch. Pick up a lake map at a Wal-mart it will help you out with navigation and ramp choices.

There are a multitude of ramps operated by county and COE. A COE pass does not work on county ramps and vice versa. Know which type of ramp you are on an pay the fee or display your COE pass on the vehicle dash or mirror.

Nothing else is needed..except a shakey head and a finesse or trick worm.

O6 SB is correct make sure which ramp you are at or you will likely have a ticket awaiting you. They are city, county and COE ramps.

Fish will be all over when you are here fluke, jerk bait heck you name it it will catch fish then. Looking at the weather and moon I think they will be a small wave of bedding fish on the 1st of April with a large wave around the16th-30th.

Where are you staying Cumming, Gainesville, Oakwood, Dawson, Buford?

We have a place rented near Cumming. The place we've rented is on Merritt Drive. Any ramps close by that area? I have an America the Beautiful Pass, so I guess that would work on Corps of Engineer ramps.

There is one very close but it is campground it's not public access unless camping. But Tidwell park is very close and a good park. You are in a good location close to largemouth and spots. Very good access to main lake.

Oh yeah Tidwell is a COE ramp so your sticker is good but you must have one at this ramp because there is no pay box.

Not all are going to have the credit card machine or old vault the following for now will be with an annual recreational pass only:
    East Bank
    Balus Creek
    Little River
    Vanns Tavern
    Tidwell
    Thompson Bridge

I don't understand their choices because several of these are heavily used ramps.
