    Helix interference

I have a Helix 9 on the front of my boat. I recently updated my trolling motor from a Maxxum to a Fortrex and now I am getting interference on my SI when powering the trolling motor and sometimes on the DI. The sonar has no interference. Prior to putting on the Fortrex I did no have any interference. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your motor is broadcasting RFI on the same frequencies that the unit uses. Contact Humminbird Customer Service for help with your RFI issue.

What is their fix after the typical troubleshooting suggestions don't work?

    1. check the ground wire fuse inside the trolling motor head........if bad replace and test

    2. remove the cable from your on board charger from the cranking battery......if better then its your charger

    3. then try rfi chokes on your transducer or power cable
