    Stocking largemouth or smallmouth

    Does the state ever stock bass anywhere ? They stock lake Michigan and various trout lakes but have never heard about bass surely they do.

    I highly doubt they even stock the big pond,I be live Blagojevich is the one who combined are Nat Resources funding into a general pool.

    They have several stocking projects as well as the Corp of Engineers. Contact the biologist in charge of the body of water you're curious about

    I think most lakes in Central Illinois get stocked from minnow buckets being emptied out.

    smallmouth were stocked in Shelbyville within the last few years. Kinda crazy that they don't seem to establish a population

    I've caught 2 small mouths at Shelbyville since 1973. Neither were keepers

    Smallmouth bass need the absolute cleanest conditions to survive. That says a lot about the fisheries you find them.
