    Pulling rain pants over shoes

I fish with an older gentleman a lot and he didn’t like to use his bibs during cold weather or rain because they wouldn’t slide over his shoes and it was too much hassle to take the shoes off and on. Solved the problem with a simple grocery bag. Pull the bag over your shoe and it slides right through without the sole of your shoe catching on the fabric. I keep on in my bib pocket as it takes up very little space.

Long before many on this site were born, that same trick was used with ...wax paper...and ...school galoshes....
    Thanks for the memories.

Yet another "why didn't I think of that" moment. Just installed a Walmart bag in my bib pockets. Thanks!

We used to do that on my grandpa's dairy farm with new rubber overshoes that would stick to our work boots, never thought about it with rain pants, great idea.

    Great idea!
I have zero flexibility, and find it very difficult to get my rain pants on, even if my shoes are off. My pant legs get pulled up as well. This will correct all these problems.

This is genius, I used it over the weekend and feel like a moron for not thinking of it myself. Great tip.

Just about the right size as well.
I remember my mother saving bread bags for when my winter boots were leaky. Good times.

Me too. Slipping my shoes into a bread bag, sliding them into 4 buckle boots, and walking 2 miles to school in the winter, thru a foot of snow. Uphill, both ways.
