Got a weird issue

2004 Johnson 175. First had a problem where the temp sensor wasn’t seated properly and was not letting QuickStart drop the rpms once warmed. Got that fixed but now I get a water temp alarm if I let the engine idle for more than a few mins. As long as I’m running down the lake no problem. Impeller is new and the engine pees a strong stream. Before I re seated the sensor I had no alarms idling or running just wanted the QuickStart to work correctly. Any ideas?
