This might possibly be too hard to answer as I doubt many have fished this rod yet.
I have the original jerkbait special and it excels as jerkbaits but I use it a lot for walk the dog baits like a Duo Realis Pencil 110 it a Spook.
I have used it for a Pop Max as well.
Imo, unless they really changed the taper of the new blank, you should be alright with any of these techniques.

I find the action to also be good for light/finesse spinnerbaits.
I use that rod for both jerkbaits and topwater. It can be used for other stuff as well.
