    Question Lid question

I looked over the 210 in the Honda booth at the Classic on Friday, nice boat for sure. Why does a Charger, or at least the 210, not have latches on any of the lids? How do you keep the lids from popping open during rough water days?

They hold on rough water days. Might also want to go over to the Champion board and ask as well. A lot of Champion 210 owners over there as well as other models that don’t have latches.

Owned mine for 7 years and never an issue with the box lids popping open. Champion never had latches on their boxes, just locks. The Charger 210 comes standard with a Loc-R_Bar for security, so no need for the locks.

Never had the old school locks leak on any of my rigs. The newer ones, not so much. The water has to go somewhere. Never had lids pop open on any of my Champs in the roughest water or roads.

My 05 has never leaked. I prefer to have the locks vs simply the lock r bar, because I can lock up boat quickly if stopping at gas station, etc for a short period of time.

Lids that must be latched everytime you open & close them are a pain in the ass! I have a bass cat with perko latches , have to operate them everytime you get in them. My champion, just open and close.

In case I was not clear enuf, I mean that I only like the really small locks on Champions. The ones which are simply the dime sized keyhole type. I hate the ones with finger grips or other hardware.
I do not lock the lids unless I will be away from the boat in an area that might not be secure.

Lea, that is how charger used to do their locks too. My 1997 had the dime size locks. I hate these perko things. Thinking about developing a replacement for them

All of my boats with latches would leak in the rain...therefore I really like the lids on my 210 and the fact I have a Lock-R-Bar for more security. Chevy vs Ford kind of deal...
