Make sure you don’t have any pinched wires.

I used a little white lithium grease. You want then to be tight.

Loosen or tighten up the winch strap. Pressure on that strap, one way or the other, will sometimes make the pins hard to remove as there is usually some play in the connection of the swing away part of the trailer tongue to the trailer.

I have released the strap. Owned a 2011 P2 and 1999 Cougar, neither were anywhere close to this difficult.

Like someone said, tighten the wench strap if having it loose doesn’t work. With it loose my pins are hard to get out or put in. If I tighten the strap they are easy to get out.

Interesting reading for me. I have to give a sharp tug to release mine but never had an issue removing them. I have more trouble getting them in once I have straightened out my tongue.

Slacken and tighten the winch as others stated above while your pulling on the pin. I hit mine with a little car wax now and again seems to stick in the surface texture of the pin pretty good.

May be paint or powder coat in the holes...as stated above, lube up with something. I have to use a hammer, using a block of wood to buffer the hit.

Lift up on the tongue as you pull on the pins!

As stated, clean out paint and burs from holes, clean the pins and any file any burs smooth.
I would rather have the pins on the tight side than very loose as some other companies do to speed up production.

On the last Cougar I had, one pin came out with the winch strap tight. To get the other pin out I had to loosen the strap.

As noted above, it's all about the tightness of the winch strap on the boat. It took me more than a few days (and a rubber mallet hammer) to figure that out.

I loosen the strap and pull the end of the tongue towards me as I pull the pins.

You might try some very fine emory paper and a wood dowel. Split the end of the dowel, slide in a piece of fine sandpaper that is maybe an inch or two long and 1/2" wide. Chuck it up in your drill, and run it slowly all the way through the hole and back. That will clean out any paint, rust spots, rough edges, etc... Oil after finishing...
