Way back when, I had a Johnson GT 150 with an Attwood hydrofoil on--heavy motor. I used it to get on plane faster with less transom drop in very shallow tidal waters.

I have a Chris Bailey foil on my Bullet XRS w/Pro xs and I got it to make it come out of the hole a lot quicker. "Most All" Bullets you have to feather to keep them from blowing out when trying to get up on plane, I have owned 3 Bullets and found that it helps a lot. The boat I have now will pop up like a cork and be moving forward while a lot of other Bullets in our club are feathering it to keep from spinning out on take off. It does exactly what Chris said it would do, get me on plane a lot quicker.

Allison foil on mine. Helped hols shot. Some guys in big water don't like them. Something about how they keep the boat too high when cresting waves. But at the same time you can stay on plane at lower speeds. A couple Allison guys have also said they can feel the foil effect handling at high speeds and even take mph's away from top end.

I have one and love it. I had to adjust my jackplate a little to get the best performance. I run Erie and have had no issues with it. Granted, I run a Ranger so speed is NOT a factor. It greatly improved my low speed planing and also keeps my bow up in heavy waves. My foil is a Chris Bailey. It looks awesome as well.

The foil has zero effect on top end performance it is out of the water.

That was my thought too but with back to back runs with and without the foil proved otherwise.

I have considered getting one. My holeshot is great right now so need no help there. What I would like is to maintain plane at a lower speed. If I was certain it would make a noticeable difference I would install one.

I have a Chris Bailey as well. Made a difference with my 4 stroke install. As said in a previous post it looks sharp to.

I put one on my nitro. They talon killed hole shot and the foil brought the boat back to life.

Made my own, it makes my boat jump out of the hole and stay on plane at slower speeds!

I have a traditional Stingray Hydrofoil and it drastically improved my holeshot. When testing props a 4 blade got on plane quicker than my 3 blade but it was 3 mph slower. I like the fact that the foil allows me to run my 3 blade and lose 0 speed and have a great holeshot all at the same time.
