Gel coat repair on hull

I have a 1” by .5” spot on The bottom of my hull where I must’ve hit a rock. I can see Glass and Can pullthe gelcoat back a little around it with my fingernails. Can glue down the gelcoat to where it can’t be pulled back then Gel over the exposed fiberglass

That does not sound like a good plan, i would really recommend taking the boat to a qualified glass shop. Delamination is no good

Grind it out with a Dremel, add chopped glass and resign then fill with the correct color gel assuming it’s a solid color...sand and buff.

If it is just a chip, and no significant damage to the fiberglass, u can re gel.

U will have to grind out some of the gel around the ding, otherwise you will be doing it again in a few months.

Thanks guys. No significant damage just a ding. How bad would it be if I fished a time or 2 before the repair. Have 2 tournaments coming up.

I do it all the time. No big deal, if its getting hit by water it will get bigger

Absolutely do NOT want to follow any of that advice. Even mixing on a piece of porous cardboard??
