    Question

My 25 pitch Tempest Plus developed a crack in one of the blades. I am scheduled to fish a tournament this weekend and I borrowed a 25 Tempest and a 27 Tempest Plus from a friend to try. Took my prop off and removed the hub kit. The 25 pitch Tempest has the hub already installed in the prop and it will not fit on the shaft of my boat.

I tried the 27 and the thrust washer will not go over the grooved parts of the shaft.

My buddy said he had it on a 225 Mercury. Mine is a 225 Pro XS.

    Any advice?

    Thanks.

Different lower units, sounds like you have the fat shaft torquemaster.

Use your hub out of the 25 Tempest Plus in the loaner 27.

IF you do in fact have a fat shaft, which it sounds like you do, they do not use a thrust washer. Just the metal hub. Take it apart and put back together exactly the same just using the 27.

The 27 has a hub kit in it that doesn't fit my shaft. How is the best way to remove that hub kit?

Something not too sharp that you can tap it out with. Put some grease on it when you put yours back in it.

I used my old hub kit and the 27 tempest plus and that should get me through the weekend.

the square style hub kits are nice cause now you see how you can run any prop of that type using your current hub. Glad you got it figured out
