Do I need a Humminbird df to use this feature
When I hit it the remote says no spot lock in range.

No. It uses it's own internal GPS in the head of the trolling motor to spot lock. The heading sensor is used for the jog feature.

Im talking about going back to like 2 spot locks before where the boat is currently
Is that stored in the ultrex or do I need a Humminbird unit
It has that feature without a depth finder. You can save up to so many spot locks and go back to them using the remote. It will also save so many tracks and you can re-trace the tracks. I haven't used those features yet, and I don't know how many of each it will store in memory, but the book will tell you.

Ok
I go back over the user manual
I guess maybe you need to save them or something
Ty sir
Yeh... I believe the spot locks save themselves, not sure about the tracks. But yes it has those features. I have used the spot-lock and jog features more than I ever thought I would. It is a great trolling motor.

Also, you may have to find those features in the I-Pilot manual instead of the Ultrex manual, I'm not sure.

I know exactly what you talking about. You have to be within range from that spot lock for it to return there. If you too far away it won't go back.
Yes
I know this
Just didn't know if the tm would store them without depthfinder
Remote can store up to 6 but if you have the humminbird you can tell it to spot lock on your waypoints.
How do you store them?
Check page 25 of the Ipilot-Link Owner's manual. You have to select save on the remote to save them. Helix can store up to 2750 waypoints/spot-locks.

Nice
Ty!
You will only be able to use the Hummingbird if you bought the link motor.
Wes
I did buy the iPilot link
I did the same. I don't have a bird yet, but when funds allow I will probably get a Helix 7 with a lakemaster chip and link Ultrex to it.
Wes
No finder needed. According to the manual, you have to be within 1/4 mile of the spot for it to work.
