Anyone near Abilene or Wichita Falls area interested in swapping, just got a deal on the 52" now that I've got it in person, I'm thinking maybe I like the shorter one, haven't installed it yet looks brand new

You can cut the shaft down to 45
Yep, cut it down is the easiest. My Ultrex was 60 and cut it to 52.
Did you have to bore the top of the shaft to get the gear/pulley to go back in?
They pulled the top part off, was very careful not to cut the wires and put it back together. Do not take the lower unit off and cut there, asking for problem. Very simple deal, took about 10 minutes.
Who is they?
Proline trolling motors in Angelo, it's not rocket science, pull the top off.its a couple screws if I remember correctly, the head pops off and cut it with a jigsaw and be careful of the wires. Put it back together, it's so easy I be cut two here at the lake for buddies of mine. But to be honest, I think you'll regret goin to a 45. The way the wind blows here, 45 won't be in the water much especially this time of year.
I'll give the 52" a try, just don't like the head sticking up in shallow water for casting
I kind of throw an under hand, sidearm pitch, helps get under limbs and docks, also helps my bait skip
I stand on top of mine and look for Red Fish!!!!!
