I spoke to the Vexus northern sales rep yesterday and asked him about the construction of the transom. I also asked why they don’t hang a 175 or 200 on the 19’er - comparing it to Xpress. He said the 150 will put that boat at a reasonable price point. I told him that I’d be willing to pay for a 175 or 200. He basically shut down the convo after that. He said that their capacity plate states that the max is 150...

I don't think a Vexus would hit 70 with a 200 but I would like to see what one could do. Who knows maybe the extra horse power and right prop would give the some more lift. I will also say I am not trading my Xpress for a Vexus any time soon even if they do up the max hp rating.

I almost get the feeling that there is an internal argument over HP ratings.

Definitely a nice looking boat in the pictures on there website. I'm sure they will have a few bugs to work out at first and if they can stick around for a few years, probably make some inroads on Xpress business.

I agree but it'd cost a bit more. Makes them less competitive if they are in the market for competing with ranger aluminum. They are just trying to get in the game at this point. I could forsee a 20ft+ model in a few years with .125 coming out. im sure It'd cost a pretty penny though.

A 20ft rated for a 150 is assanine! That alone would keep me from buying one. That could kill the sale on that boat.

Yeah...the 150 rating kinda has me scratching my head too... At least a 175 rating on a boat over 19' should be standard these days. imo
