    Coffeen Lake?

    Hello all,

Been a while since I have posted on here. Its time for me to come out of retirement and start fishing again. Its been three years since I have really got to fish.

Has anyone fished Coffeen lake lately? Any info would be great and I GREAT appreciate it. I'll be on a trolling motor all day, so might be a really long day. Thanks in advance.

Sorry Jonathan but I haven't been since last spring. Look on crappie.com in the Illinois forum as there was a post awhile back about the conditions at Coffeen. Might help a little.

Not much grass visible but it's still down there. The lake is pretty full so there is plenty of wood in the water. Recent tournaments have taken 20-24 lbs to win. As always, the worse the weather, the better the bite. Lake temp Sunday was 55-59 midlake to the RR tressel.

Thanks guys, I didn't know if anyone was knocking them out on any baits. I've done good down there on cranks in past, but never fished it this time of year.

Well we got third place and big bass for the day. 3 fish got 9lbs and 5ozs with big bass weighing 4lbs and 15ozs. Caught them off red eye shads. 1st won with chatter baits.

Nasty pothole in middle of the road, at entrance to Indian cove campground.
Thursday morning, 55° at ramp. 2' visibility.
