1/8oz A-Rig swimbait hooks w/4/0 heavy wire jig hooks...

A friend has been using 1/4oz and wanted something lighter, Realistic looking head with eyes, and large hook, good barb to hold his plastics. I modified a mold for him on Sunday and poured him a bunch. It's hard to find a light jig with a large hook.

Yep I had to modify some molds to take a 4/0 hook. Those look good as usual. You do good work. I like to use 1/16 oz when they are shallow.

Thanks...Most don't know how hard it is to pour light weight heads on heavy wire hooks and get full pours, Especially with barbs like these.

5 of these on an A-rig can get heavy with the wire and plastics... These should help.

I use Pewter, it's like 64% the weight of lead. Don't have to modify the mold and you still get a normal size head and keeper. I actually get free scraps from work otherwise it's expensive.

Coat the mold with a release agent and use hot glue. Very light weight.

Hot glue floats.. I have done this and the head will turn the bait upside down. Maybe your glue is different than mine.

Those look great!! I guess the 32886 Mustad or EC 3886 is too light depending on location. In my waters that hook works well but in more southern water in my be on the light side I guess.

I honestly like the light wire hooks better for A-Rig. if you fish it right you will get hung up a lot. light wire hooks will open up when yanked on with heavy braid. saves you a lot of money in lost rigs

The guy I made them for likes to boat flip 5-6lb smallmouth on heavy line.... Light wire hooks fail under these conditions. I cant argue his success.

I like them too... Those are 4mm and did not fit in the sockets.

I just ordered 7000 in sizes 3mm up to 12mm
