    Anybody know what this is?

    It's mounted between transom and gas tank. It's not a water seperator, have one of those.
    Gas line run in one side, out the other.
    I'm a rookie at owning a four stroke.

    That's a new deal from the EPA...vapor barrier/filter of some sort. You can remove it if you'd like.

    hmmmm? The only thing i can read on it is "Meets EPA accordance"

    so the gas line running through it is just an air line, not actual gas running through it.
