    Trophy prop

i picked up a used trophy plus prop 23P to run on my 94 PII basscat with a 150 XRI. I'm running a 23P tempest right now with the large plugs in the prop. Right now the Trophy has no plugs should I just put the large plugs into the prop and try it. I looking for a good starting point.

Try and run them all open... Start plugging them until you see 3500ish rpms on holeshot.

I knew that it should be 3500 on break over. I have a tempest prop 23P now with 3 large holes.

Never understood why they even put pvs holes in a small hub prop. The.trophy vents plenty as it is. I guess there's still a few small hub mercs running around might could use it.

Every different pitch, gear ratio, HP, brand motor, hull have different venting needs............ Even with the small barrel prop on a large gearcase.

This. I used to run one on a 175 EFI with 2 holes open and 2 medium plugs. Worked great like that.

If I am going to run the trophy I think will have to,get a ring. Break over was around 4800. Boat had no lift at all.

Plugs have nothing to do with bow lift, plugs are only for holeshot. If no bow lift seems the prop may need some cup put in it.

Poorly repaired or motor is too high for the load you carry. Maybe not enough set back.

Did you drop the motor height lower than the tempest you were running? Trophy is smaller in diameter and needs to run a little lower.
