Solix Mega SI, Mega DI, 2D image extravaganza
I've been reviewing Solix 12 Mega images from the last few seasons, and thought I could provide some useful info, and maybe some interesting images for the folks here.
I have uploaded the images to Imgur, which allows me to provide LARGE images so you can see details. I'm not sure how that will work out just yet, and you might have to click links to see the images. Please bear with me as I work this out. There's nearly 50 images to post...
(See a following post for these images, which just won't link...)
Anyhow, my first set: https://imgur.com/a/bhNKP compares 2D and DI. The water seemed to be either quite turbid, or we had an incredible plankton/alge bloom. As I recall, the water seemed fairly clear to at least 4 feet, though.
Note that I like to run sensitivity as high as possible (a holdout from my paper graph days) which also affects how the Solix sees the bottom, and white line...

This is a shot where the starboard bottom was rising. The transducer was also mostly level with the boat, and my weight tilted the hull to starboard...

White Line Fever! https://imgur.com/a/TjJpz
Note how the white line seems to use 2D, and that weeds can show as Bottom, and that signal dropout or ? can result in the white line to drop well below the bottom.

Thanks for sharing but I have to ask why the heck did you take a screen shot of the images in Windows Photo Viewer? Why would you not just post the jpg files directly?

Thanks for posting all the images and trying to help people skid00skid00
