I am not a huge synthetic fan but when dealing with the newer 4 strokes I only run what the MFG recommends for oil. So I will side with Tablerock on this one. I always have broken new engines in with Conventional oil. BUT now with the last few high RPM bikes I have stuck with synthetic. They have broken in fine. With that being said when/if I can get a SHO it will be ran hard with the rpms from idle to wide open after 15 min or so and not held at any rpm for any length of time. No way will I idle it for the hour or so that the manual suggest doing. Wonder why there is so many issues with these engines. That pretty much sums it up IMHO. CJ
