No story to go with the picture???... Dan
Didn’t happen at the ramp. They were running from the warm side of the lake, running 65, and were turning to go into the chute that leads to other side of the lake when something broke or stopped working in the steering. It made an instant left turn and when the bow plowed it flew ass over bow tossing both from the boat. Driver was over 20 yards from the boat and the boat landed on the passenger upside down like that. Both were ok. Just cold and shaken. He was towed back to the ramp by another boat. It took a bunch of us and a wrecker to get it flipped back over. Took what seemed like an eternity to drain enough water out to get it back on the trailer. It was upside down for over 4 hours with the trollin motor, electronics, livewells, and bilge running. When we got it flipped back everything was still workin except for the steering and the motor (verado) would not trim up. It appeared that the only damage to the boat itself was the windshields were broke, one compartment lid was broke, and the floor where the pedestal seat up front sits was broke. The floor probably broke when it was being flipped back over in the shallow water. Thankfully the 2 were wearing their life jackets and came out unscathed other than being rattled a bit. When you see this happen it really brings into perspective that not only do we have to be aware of other boaters, our own driving, and water conditions to stay safe out there. We also need to understand that sometimes our equipment may fail causing us a nightmarish scenario. Stay safe. It can happen that fast.
Good to hear that no one was hurt. A friend sent me the pic with no details since I had a Charger and want another one. Do you happen to know what steering system is on that boat?
Holy smokes, thanks for the story! Glad to hear that nobody was hurt.
dang that would scare the crap out of you.
Glad everyone is ok.
do you think the graph picked up birds flying over?
