    what'd you forget on trip

Getting ready to head out of state fishing, first Alabama, then Missouri. Anybody take off for a long trip and forget to take something important. In the past I have forgotten an extension chord long enough to reach the boat, a phone charger, and once even forget the toilet paper (only once). I'm looking for some things others may have forgotten so I don't make the same mistake.

Left my fishing poles in the garage once. Was 3 hours away from my house when I finally realized...

Oh, and don't forget the beer...did that once too.

I forgot the remote and foot pedal for the xi5 trolling motor I had on my last boat. Having the gateway to connect the trolling motor to my graphs saved the trip. It was less than ideal to be constantly bending down to steer the boat but it worked.

did the same thing a few years back...half way to the lake and realized I didn't have the keys. Thankfully my wife met me half way back home with the keys.

Did that once, realized at the lake I had grabbed the motorcycle keys instead of the boat keys. Fortunately I keep a spare set in my wallet.

Boat keys, fishing license, copy of boat registration, kill switch, boat seats, charger if not an on board, extension cords, oil, spare prop, prop wrench, tool kit, life jackets, tackle, sun screen, bug spray, cooler with ice, and what ever food you want to bring. If you are camping you will need to make a list because you will forget your pillow.

I pack backups of everything that isn't too cost prohibitive and occasionally it pays off. Got to the lake yesterday and went to install the t-handle drain plug and the threads stripped on me so that I couldn't tighten it. Backup plug saved my day at the lake.

Steak sauce? If you cook them right you don’t need sauce!

I don't know why, but some like to cook their steak to a dried up, burnt up resemblance of a hockey puck. Just had a nice juicy med rare Fillet last night...
