If interested check out Richard Bowlings guide service. He is on Truman not sure of spelling last name. He has been really catching nice crappie since mid Feb.
Don't know about that part of the lake but yesterday down by the the dam we caught a lot if 11-14" off jigs. Color didn't seem to matter.
Saturday the crappie were hitting 1/16 ounce jigs with a curly tail black and chartreuse grub. Fish were in 6- 12 feet of water in coves with 45 degree sloping banks. Fish were all females and size was good. Jigs had to be reeled very slowly and bites were light, just had to keep reeling until they hooked up. Fish were around docks or brush.
We got back from crappie fishing last night. So here is what we did ------almost nothing. The water in he Niangua was muddy and 43 degrees. Just got cold and a little wet. I heard it was still good down by the dam.
Couple of weeks ago while bassin up in grand Glaise caught a crappie as shallow as it gets on a swim jig up on the bank. Water temp then was 45 and stained.
