Learn me on Megabass Flap Slaps

How are you guys fishing them in spring? What water temps, retrieve, etc.

I've heard of weighting them to suspend and fish like a jerkbait, and fishing out of the pack.
I've got a couple weighted, and haven't caught a fish on them.

I'm in the dark on this.

Similar to a Shad Rap, it's great for rocky banks. Reel it just like you would a crankbait, but slower. They work well any time the water is below 60 degrees.

I much prefer a traditional jerkbait than a Flap Slap when jerkbaiting. It's kind of tedious to get the Flap Slap to suspend right and have a good action.

It was tedious to get them to suspend. I broke out all the tricks. Upsize front hook wrapped with lead wire, suspendstrips, etc.

I will unweight them and give another try. Gotta cast better than a shap rap for sure.
    Thanks

Excellent coldwater bait. I weight them with one suspend strip. On retrieve, I slow crank with pauses and pulls. I don't worry about neutral suspension. Usually the fish I catch on em are quality.
AND, for schooling fish, they just might be the best thing to throw.
