stratos 273 trolling motor tray ? if anyone knows

Could there be an issue weakening the floor after the tray is put in? I can put one in, just would hate to weaken the floor.

I put one in my Javelin 180 which I reckon is the same boat with no problems the floor is as strong as it was.

Have a tray in my 273 and have not noticed any weakening of the floor. Back feels better with the lower pedal!

Thank you fastman. do you fish from a regular seat? if so, is the pedal to close to the seat for comfort? Looked at mine last night for a while and couldn't decide if it would be to close. The most recent boat I had, after I put the recessed tray in, I could not sit down and run the trolling motor comfortably. Thinking about putting the tray as far forward as I can, well if it structurally is ok to. Can't decide, I may have brand new recessed tray for sale if I can't decide.

My boat is single console, so my seat base may be further forward.

Your thought is the same as mine. I also have a single console and it does seem like it would be really close

My recessed tray is mounted about as far forward as it can be. Measuring from the center of the pedestal mount hole to the leading edge of the tray is 13 1/2". Sitting on the seat and working the motor is not a problem. I personally fish 95% of the time without the seat.

As in Bassinbees' pic...a jigsaw for the cut and a sheet rock saw for the foam.

Fastman is correct regarding the tools. The pictures shown are from a friend when he installed his. I haven't done mine yet. I purchased the same tray and will have to check to see where I ordered it from. Now considering an ultrex and want to make sure the tray will accomodate the foot pedal before making my cuts.
