tricking out bladed baits, like silver buddies

Do you mainly vertical jig them or cast them? How do you handle problems like hanging up on the bottom too much, how about line tangling. How about split rings or not -- special hooks like single inline hooks{ http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner...page-OSRH.html }, smaller trebles, double or triple "split shank" hooks?

Mainly cast way far, short hops back to boat, moderate to slow pace (got to find what they want). Fishing deep about 20ft, so really don't get much vegetation on it, and no line tangling cause I put a light swivel about 6 inches up. I change the hooks to short shank trebles on a split ring...I think size 6; works well, and rarely gets fouled. I use the actual silver buddy 3/4 oz and other brands (can't recall brand name); kind of like the one that is silver with red eyes -- good action.
Did I mention the blade bait bite is fun!
