12ft talon installed, want go up using remote

Just installed new 12ft talons, remote will deploy but want retract, have to use button on talon. Any help would be nice.

Mine did that while on the trailer. They always work right in the water. Weird I know.

I think you might have to double click the button on the remote, but I can't remember if that's for up or down.

Double click down, single up. It's something to do with being on the trailer. Others have had the same issue

There's too much tension on the spike when on the trailer. The boat has no give the the Talon has a lot if power so the spike is a little bent causing a jam. I wouldn't deploy it out of water, if you have to, tilt the Talon so it can fully extend with no tension.

Just got mine installed also...they worked fine on the trailer but sucked on the water....I would sometimes have to double click down in 4 or 5 sessions before they would go down...and sometimes I would have to push up a few times before they retracted...wasn't happy at all....

The 18 have a glitch and won’t go up if deployed only to the first light. The latest update which links it to your tm etc should fix it.

Mine isn't linked to anything...Gonna change remote batteries and see if that helps...I noticed today playing around with them that the remote was not going thru the modes like it should

It’s a software glitch at 2 feet. They need to be updated. It has nothing to do with linking to anything.

But the 2ft glitch has nothing to do with them not wanting to deploy on the water.....Had to try 4-5 times in a row a couple times to get them to deploy....other times they deployed right away

Clear the talons, remotes, and anything else connected and re link it all.

I'm not sure man. Once I cleared and paired mine they work good. I would give minnkota a call. They are pretty good to work with

mine do the same thing when on the trailer. They will deploy with the remote but won't come up. Have to press the up on the talon itself. This doesn't happen when on the water though. I think it has something to do with the talon not being extended far enough.
