    Bought a yak

Well todays the day my new yak is coming home. I bought a Bonifide SS127 for my first yak. I own a scanoe which I use for my small water fishing. But I always wanted a yak since they got more stable so I bite the bullet and bought one. Happy Fishing

Congrats! You started at the top! Those are super nice. I saw one at my yak dealer the other day. Seat is very comfortable. I really like the paddle "boss" strap at the front of the boat. Based on how that kayak hull is made it looks like it will track straighter and paddle easier.

I got one last fall. (Chinook)No more relying on inflatables for me. The Chinook is really nice and very adjustable. Can't wait to use it this spring! Congrats on the new yak!

Have been waiting on the Bonafide kayak for over a year and can't wait to get 1 next month. Currently have a Ocean Kayak BG 2 and was wanting to get into the smaller ss107. After looking at their website several times I noticed the junk drawer is an optional accessory on it and the bow hatch only opens from 1 side not both like the ss127. I know their small things but I really like dual directional hinges on the bow storage and the junk box should be standard on it.

I'll be testing one here in NC in about 4 weeks. That's the one I'm looking at buying. If I jump on it, I'll probably own it by the summer. I currently own an Ascend FST 128T. Here's a question, as I'm thinking of things down the road. Can you put a small Minn Kota 30lb thrust trolling motor through the hole that's currently in there for the transducer? I'm thinking ahead of powering it, I'm hoping Bonafide will develop a pedal system soon that'll drop through there as well. My thought was to buy a small trolling motor, cut the shaft down to about 12-18 inches, run it through a board that'll fit inside the hole, then re-attach the head in reverse so that the handle faces me. Thoughts?

I’m not sure about your specific set up but torqueedo (or spelled something close to that) specifically makes trolling motors for yaks

Spoke with Bonafide last week directly since I couldn't get any answers from my local dealer. Extra pods for them are 69.95 . Also their website is correct and the junk drawer is not included with the ss107 but can be purchased separately for 49.95. And in the first videos released they had rod organizers in them which are not in the current production models. They will be available mid spring along with other accessories on their website.

Here are some less expensive motor options...

I've looked through their site before. Believe me those "options," are much more expensive. Their mounts alone will cost me about the same as the trolling motor. A 30lb thrust minn-kota, new, can be gotten for about $100 give or take. And with my Nitro card at BPS, I can get it for about $80. Factor in the cost of wiring and an inexpensive battery I think I can do what I want for around $150.00. But that's beside the point. I like the Bonafide for a variety of reasons, primarily because of the stability. The things I don't like about it are:
    1. No rod holders built in. Mine will be strictly for fishing.
    2. No rear scupper holes to plug in my kayak cart.
    3. No current (factory made) external power options.
