    Barren

What’s it like right now? Picking my boat up from Mark miller marine and wonder if it was worth stopping there to break the new motor in and hopefully catch a few. I know it has rained a lot down there recently.

If too bad I might drive to Dale.

It looks like it is almost 10 feet over summer pool. I have used Baileys Point ramp with the lake that high and it was fine. I have not been on Barren this year but in the past when the water first comes up quick like this, there will be a lot of debris in the water. It may have settled out some by now though. Hopefully someone with better knowledge can let you know how it looks now.

TTT, also curious. I think it should be fine but don't want to drive 3 hours if it isn't.

There was a lot of debris floating main lake and in the creeks last weekend. Main lake is stained in color.

Take minnows if planning on fishing. Still some floaters but the wind direction changes that daily!

Not a ton of debris this past weekend, visibility was 2ft or so. Stained but not terrible. Will be interesting to watch what they do with the water level the next couple of weeks.

Lake looked good last weekend. Depending on how much rain we get, the main lake may not get too bad.

Talked to 2 locals from there that were fishing Cumberland yesterday for the first time. They said Barren was awful. They talked like it was very high, muddy & debri everywhere.

Water was creeping over the walkway at port Oliver. The one to the left if your on the ramp looking into the lake. Fishable from the dam to the bridge. But muddy past bridge and headed towards the dam quick.

I fished barren over the weekend and it was awful. I played around bass and crappie fishing and both were unsuccessful. Only crappie i caught were 25-35' deep ono brush piles and very difficult to get to bite. Caught about 6-8 total but could only catch about 2 eat time i hit a brush pile. Most were small. One was 10.5" and one was 11.5"
I had one spotted bass on jerkbait that was just shy of 15"
And 2 largemouth both on A-rigs. One was 16" the other about 14"
Not a bite flipping, nothing on traps, cranks, spinner bait, and nothing deep on jigs.

Lake is about 13 feet over summer pool. Main river is muddy from state park back.
Fished 3 days. A-rig and spinnerbait was all I could get bit on.

I tossed a Spinnerbait for hours on Saturday. Nothing. Caught a dink flipping bushes.
