New PB with the new boat and poles.

Was able to do some running today with a full load of fuel, case of 20 Oz bottle water, 100 lbs of ballast and about 100 lbs of tackle give or take a few pounds. I got up to 95.6 at 6200 with 20 psi water pressure. 29 Hydromotive Q4. Not much left in the setup. She’s close to max.

Thanks guys. From about 5 hours till now at 8 hours I can tell the motor has loosened up some and I'm picking up some rpm's. I would think that at 12-15 hours it will be about as loose as its going to get and that's when I'll see final numbers on the stock motor. One thing I noticed with the poles at WOT is that it does not take much of a crosswind to really give you a loose stern. It was like driving on a rail otherwise.

I'm sure those grasshopper legs make a sudden cross wind even worse .
Had mine aired out on Amistad Saturday running down a bank with a tall bluff wall-- went by the mouth of a deep side canyon. Left teeth marks in the seat cover !!!!

I had a similar thing happen Saturday. Was just screaming down the river and all of a sudden my boat felt like somebody else was driving it thanks to a good old unexpected NW wind.

Hate when that happens. Mine isn't canyons but big trees give a similar effect!

I don't know what the max speed is with a loaded boat and a stock setup, but with these 8' blades I'm thinking the same thing I was thinking from day 1 which is about 96-97. In a perfect world with 6-7% prop slip 98. I think right now that it will be a few more hours of break in on the motor before I really know what it will do. I may be at max right now and not know it.

Yes and the 31 Q4XOB the hole shot blow out was so bad that I hated to run either one. The Promax you have was only slightly better when Robbie worked it. The XOB was worse surging bad on hole shot and lifting the stern when running causing no bow lift. Where I run my boat if you spend the kind of time getting on plane that these two props did your are going to hit something hard sometime.

The 300 must make it tough..

I can't wait to try it after plugging the holes and taking out some cup...
