Max hp rating on 2015 Z7 ?

Just a little confused on manufacturers boat spec’s and US Coast Guard rating. My boat is rated for 200hp on CG max capacities but everything I read says should be rated to only 175 hp. I thought they derated them from 200 to 175 around 2012/2013 or are all Z7’s rated for 200hp?

It varies by year. There was even a time that they were limited to 150. 2015 sounds way too late to be rated for 200.

Nitro let a few Z7's out of the factory in 2015 with the wrong HP rating plates. If your factory installed rating plate says 200hp then you got one of those boats. Nitro sent out letters to owners of these boats that they were to bring them to the dealer so they could change the plate to 175hp max.

I thought the same.I went to look at it for first time I didn’t even notice sticker rating till my buddy I took along mentioned it. Everything I read said it should be 175, which it has on it. Not complaining love the boat but seems strange unless all 2015 Z7’s where 200hp US coast guard rated stickers.

I have a 15, it is 175HP

Z7s were rated for 200hp until about midway through 2011.

If you ever need to re-power, put a 200 on it!!!
