Decoding a prop by the numbers?

Are you able to decode the numbers on the side of a prop to determine what series it is if it doesn't have the "A+number" stamped into it? For example, is there a way to tell if this is an A47 series?

Does it have PVS holes? It's a 25" tempest and that's all the numbers tell you not which model.

Yes it has PVS holes and takes a Flo-Torque hub.

I was just curious before I purchased it, however I already pulled the trigger on it. I'll just send it straight to Mark :)
    Thank you though.

I am not certain about the 48 so you need to verify what I say...

The 48 denotes that it is the newest version of a Tempest. The older version before it was 45. The 48 tempest has thicker metal and is more reliable than the 45 when running above the pad. The 45's would sling blades when surfaced but the thicker 48 are okay to run very high on the pad. It's still okay to run a 45 on "most" hulls because "most" bass boats run with the prop lower than the pad but if your boat runs really high prop to pad you need a 48 version.

The sequence of numbers after that I have no idea.

    25P is 25 pitch

48-825866 is the part number for a 25" tempest even an old one. There are no A 48 series tempests just 40, 45, 46 and 47
