    Question Propeller Bore Sleeve

I noticed the white sleeve in the lower unit looked cocked, on closer inspection I found that one of the tabs that fold it in place was broken off. I will be putting a new one in. Has anyone tried putting some high temp. silicon on the tabs to help hold the ring in place so you don't have to replace so often as I've heard about others having trouble with them?

DON'T use any type of silicone, glue or adhesive.

It would be acceptable to carefully heat the tabs and "coax" them to make a tighter snap.

Then in the future, if anything becomes loose or broken, rest assured that the part served it's purpose by sacrificing itself (rather than a portion of the gearcase, bearing carrier, etc).
